Hello, I'm Sophy

I love creating art traditionally and digitally, which I like to intermix. I use a range of traditional mixed media from Acryla gouache, paper collage, watercolour, acrylic, pastels, water-soluble crayons and pencil. 

I am an experienced art tutor and have been teaching art to adults for many years. The focus of my classes is to have fun and to enjoy creating art, where the only pressure is how hard to press your pencil on the paper. 

My illustrations have been published in the Secret Durham history book by Philip Nixon, author and photographer. 

I live with my Boston Terrier, Claude and small collection of plant babies in the beautiful historic City of Durham, U.K. When I'm not painting, drawing and answering emails, me and Claude are out exploring the woods for birdies, fairies and goblins.
